Since the majority of the negative information is falling off my credit I decided it was time to start adding more positive trade lines to my credit report. I applied for a First Premier credit card on December 18, 2007 and did not receive a denied or approved message after signing up. Today December 22, 2007 I pulled my report through truecredit and I see a new revolving account for First Premier Banks with a credit line of $250 and a balance of $179.
On the various message forums I have read regarding this card they take on their fees for the year right off the top, I didn’t mind since it’s a positive trade line and my monthly payments are $25. First Premier Bank pulled a hard inquiry to my TransUnion file however it is currently reporting to Experian only. My plans are to put the card in my sock drawer and setup a monthly $30 bill pay through my bank. In six months I would have clean payment history and a zero balance which should give me a nice bump in points considering the scoring is based on consistent payments and a credit utilization of 35% or less.
My goal for 2008 is to have my credit score in the low 700’s… the journey has begun. |
